Cheistha Kochhar Good Samaritan Award for 2024

The Cheistha Kochhar Good Samaritan Award was conceptualized in celebration of the contributions made by the late Cheistha Kochhar (1990-2024), a renowned behavioural science expert whose work continues to inspire positive change in society. Cheistha Kochhar had played a pivotal role in promoting nudge theory in behavioural science research in India.

The Centre for Digital Economy Policy Research (C-DEP) awarded Suraj Prakash Vaid, the inaugural Cheistha Kochhar Good Samaritan Award for his over three decades of selfless service in aiding road accident victims in Delhi. The award, honoring late Cheistha Kochhar, encourages societal contributions and spreads inspiration for social change.

The award was presented  with support from Porter, an Indian tech-enabled logistics enterprise that is focused on seamless intra-city goods transportation. Through support for the award, Porter has committed to ensuring road safety for citizens.

The Award will be given annually to person or persons who have contributed to the betterment of the society and who have consistently helped fellow humans in need. The award will support actions taken by exceptional individuals dedicated to service to society and is expected to nudge more citizens to become good samaritans.

The event has been extensibly covered by several media houses like PTI, ETGovernment, ANI News and other eminent names.
