This research explores the impact of organizational factors on the adoption of interoperability technology in Indian portals. Conducted through a survey questionnaire involving 300 government department and public sector undertaking portals, as well as Indian company portals, the study reveals a strong association between interoperability adoption and specific organizational factors. Multiple regression analysis further confirms the significant relationship between government portal functionalities and four organizational factors. The findings offer practical implications for government officials and practitioners, providing insights to enhance interoperability levels in government portals. Additionally, a 2 by 2 matrix framework is presented, assisting officials in prioritizing relevant organizational factors.
