Digital India Alt Hack – Delhi

New Delhi, June 26: Digital India Alt Hack, an eight-day education bootcamp in Web 3.0 and blockchain, has concluded at IIT Delhi on Monday.

IBC Media – a web 3.0 innovation company – hosted the event in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), IIT Delhi, and the Centre for Digital Economy Policy Research (C-DEP).

The hackathon was part of a series of events aimed at creating awareness about community building around blockchain and web 3.0. The hackathon also helped to familiarise students with insights from various industry experts on these new-age emerging technologies.

Among those who attended the concluding ceremony were Abhishek Pitti, Founder and CEO of IBC Media, Dr. R.K. Mitra, Principal Advisor of C-DEP, Prof. Subodh Sharma from the Computer Science department at IIT Delhi, Prof. Sunil Jha from the Department of Smart Manufacturing IIT Delhi, Prof. M.P. Gupta from the Department of Management Studies IIT Delhi, and Mr. Harish Narayan from Axxon Homeland Security.

During the eight-day event, students were divided into 33 teams. About 14 teams got selected for pitching their ideas to the industry members present.

The names of winners among the teams were announced at the concluding event. Team ‘Kuch Bhi’ bagged the top prize for its idea of leveraging blockchain technology based on linking insurance providers, hospitals, and users of smartwatches in case of accidents.

The event, which also had question-answer sessions, provided opportunities for students to secure internships, jobs, grants, and investment opportunities from industry members present.
