This study examines the position of government and corporate portals in India regarding interoperability adoption across three critical dimensions: data integration, process integration, and communication integration. Through a survey questionnaire involving 300 portals from government departments, PSUs, and Indian companies, the findings reveal that while most government portals have started integrating, Indian company portals surpass government and PSU portals in achieving interoperability. The study emphasizes the importance of addressing the weakest factors within each dimension to establish an interoperable government portal. It offers practical insights to guide the path towards full horizontal integration and enhance effective interoperability within the government sector in India.
